About The Position

General Summary: Prepares, maintains, and reconciles the agency’s general ledgers. Prepares monthly financial reports and complex analyses.

Requirements

  • Education –– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Experience– Three (3) years automated accounting experience.
  • Or a combination of education and recent relevant experience equivalent to seven (7) years of experience in accounting.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid & AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License, 39-month Motor Vehicle Report, proof of vehicle registration and liability insurance that meet company insurance requirements, if required.
  • Negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares general ledger journal entries utilizing Excel spreadsheets which capture information obtained from Great Plains accounting, as well as data supplied by outside agencies, financial analysts and others.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations of asset and liability general ledger accounts maintained in Great Plains, utilizing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Responsible for fixed asset tracking across all Intermountain entities.
  • Duties to include updating FAS fixed asset software system, determination of proper useful life and proper documentation of asset purchase and capitalization per Intermountain policies.
  • Maintains and updates accounting reporting software reports to coincide with changes within the general ledger and financial statement reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains audit schedules for annual and other financial audits.
  • Accounts for specialized grant and programs, including budgets and compliance.
  • Completes special analyses and reports as assigned by the Controller.
  • Communicates with managers and contracted agents to ensure that financial information is accurate and received on a timely basis.
  • Attends related meetings, along with Financial Analysis team, according to assigned lines of business, as directed.
  • Utilizes expertise which incorporates analytical problem solving, knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, property management guidelines and policies/procedures to ensure that financial information is accurate, timely and complete, informing the Controller of areas requiring further review.
  • Works in a team environment with the shared goal of providing accurate, timely and relevant financial information.
  • Responsible for following any policies, procedures, and controls established by the organization, the HIPAA Privacy Officer, and/or the HIPAA Security Officer regarding access to, protection of, and the use of the PHI.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
