About The Position

Dikita’s multi-disciplined team of engineering and construction management professionals delivers a wide range of high-quality projects, including transit build-out, transit market research, infrastructure improvements and expansion, new facilities, and capital construction services that enhance communities and drive industry standards forward. We are seeking a Staff Accountant with a strong background in construction or AEC accounting to join our finance team. This role will report directly to the Sr. Controller and play a vital role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting business decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the AEC, construction, or engineering industry.
• Strong understanding of job costing, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Deltek products, specifically VantagePoint is a plus but not required; will train the right individual.
• Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the A/R billing process, ensuring accurate invoices.
• Verify all transactions on bank statements.
• Track and analyze costs for ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and contracts.
• Maintain accurate records, post journal entries, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Work closely with project managers, and other departments to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
• Analyze variances in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Other accounting task as needed including Budgeting, Forecasting, etc.
