About The Position

Summary/Objective The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Understanding of the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs, with NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding TRMF information, guests, and staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
  • Assists in maintaining general ledger.
  • Reconciles accounts and assist in closing the monthly books.
  • Reconciles various operational system reports to receipts and general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Records and reconciles customer accounts and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Provides outside auditor with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Take part in accounting department weekend coverage of the daily duties as needed from May – September.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
