About The Position

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills! This position will assist the Director of Accounting with data entry, payment processing, accounts receivable/payable, audits and any other additional financial related tasks.  The ideal candidate should have an understanding of basic accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, particularly within the insurance industry. We are looking for a team player who is eager to streamline processes and share innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Demonstrate excellence in both verbal and written communication
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Origami Risk is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review banking transactions on a daily basis and properly post payments (Wire, ACH, and Checks) into the systems
  • Manage and process Accounts Receivable functions
  • Manage and process Accounts Payable functions
  • Send account statements, review and manage billing discrepancies
  • Review insurance related notices on accounts
  • Assist with billing communications
  • Assist in maintaining the departmental shared inbox, ensuring organization and all inquiries are answered in a timely manner
  • Review audit accounts and manage inquiries
  • Manage and review the claims process
  • Assist with the external audit process
  • Assist with month and quarter-end close
  • Other duties as assigned
