About The Position

As a Staff Accountant with Husqvarna Construction in Olathe, KS, you will prepare and analyze moderately complex journal entries, performing reconciliations, assisting with month-end close and tax reporting and maintaining accurate financial records and process controls. Requirements

  • Maintain high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects without losing focus
  • Able to analyze and solve new or unfamiliar problems and trouble-shoot problems independently
  • Working knowledge of Basic Accounting Principals
  • Working knowledge of current ERP system
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel Heavy)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in Accounting required.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years’ previous work experience as Accountant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries, including moderately complex or non-routine items.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations including identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Calculate customer rebates accurately and within required timelines.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing financial reports and analyzing results.
  • Support data-entry tasks including material setup (financial), commission/KPI file updates and other accounting tasks.
  • Support income and property tax reporting by completing required tax package requests.
  • Provide documentation and respond to inquiries for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in developing and improving process control procedures, including moderately complex workflows.
  • Manage document retention compliance by communicating destroy dates, coordinating with departments, and maintaining retention requirements.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and provide additional accounting support as needed.
