Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience (logistics or transportation industry experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Experience with accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • CPA candidate or CPA certification
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment

Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile carrier payments, including detention, lumper fees, and other accessorial costs
  • Perform monthly customer deposit reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
  • Assist with revenue and cost of sales recognition in accordance with company policies and GAAP
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accrued expenses
  • Assist with cash application and collections activities
  • Collaborate with operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies and carrier payment issues
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to accounting automation initiatives
