The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization by ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. This role works closely with senior accounting team members and cross-functional partners to support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis while developing strong technical accounting skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1–4 years of accounting or related finance experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • CPA eligible or working toward certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Support analysis of financial results, trends, and variances under the guidance of senior accounting staff
  • Provide data and support for budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
  • Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and internal policies
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests
  • Support documentation of accounting processes and controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to support accurate reporting
  • Assist with system testing, data validation, and reporting enhancements
  • Work with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide accounting support and respond to routine financial inquiries
