About The Position

We have an opportunity for an entry level Accountant to join the global general ledger team at Atlassian. This role will be reporting to the Accounting Manager. You will be working across our global entities maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information, ensuring our compliance with policies, collaborating across teams and being part of innovation projects so we can be a world class finance organization. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related major.
• 1 - 2 years’ professional experience in Accounting or Finance
• Experience working in a fast-growing environment, preferably in a public company
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to develop, organize and complete projects.
• Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
• Strong technical skills including proficiency in Oracle Cloud/SAP, BlackLine and Excel
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial information
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to liaise with various teams

Nice To Haves

• Working towards a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, is preferred

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries (e.g., accruals, cash activity, allocation).
• Conduct or assist with account analysis/reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Operations, HR, FP&A) to support accurate financial reporting and ensure key transactions are accounted for.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in corporate accounting activities.
• Contribute to special projects as needed, including accounting system upgrades, data validation, and reporting optimization.
• Participate in global standardization efforts for policies and procedures
• Additional duties and projects as required
