About The Position

As an Accounts Payable - Staff Accountant, you'll serve as a critical financial operations partner supporting JLL's property management portfolio. This role combines technical accounting expertise with client service excellence, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across multiple properties. You'll work within a collaborative team environment where your attention to detail and process efficiency directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional service to both internal stakeholders and external clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Entry-level to 2 years of accounts payable, general accounting, or related finance experience in a corporate or property management environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, vlookups) and Word, with demonstrated ability to manipulate financial data efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels and with external parties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with proven ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or materials requirements planning (MRP) systems, particularly Oracle or JD Edwards.
  • Background in commercial real estate, property management accounting, or facilities management operations.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application to accounts payable and accrual accounting.
  • Demonstrated task-oriented approach with excellent time management skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience preparing variance analyses or month-end financial commentary to support management reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements and GAAP standards while managing high transaction volumes efficiently.
  • Generate payment groups and check runs from approved funding, coordinating with facility managers and clients to ensure timely vendor payments and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to support month-end close activities, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Create and post month-end accruals, working closely with property teams to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
  • Generate and analyze audit reports and client-specific financial reports, delivering insights that support informed decision-making and meet contractual obligations.
  • Process property credit card transactions, verify coding accuracy, and request work order/purchase order approvals to maintain proper authorization controls.
  • Communicate proactively with vendors, facility managers, project managers, and clients to resolve inquiries, clarify invoice discrepancies, and provide exceptional customer service while meeting or exceeding department KPIs.
