About The Position

The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of CloudFirst and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The Staff Accountant partners with cross-functional teams to align accounting practices in compliance with company standards, GAAP, and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or technology industry experience preferred)
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with accounting systems and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
  • Experience with ERP or accounting platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar). QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Desire to learn, grow, and take ownership in a scaling organization

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-state accounting
  • Progress toward CPA or other accounting certification

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner
  • Assist with revenue recognition, expense allocation, and intercompany accounting as applicable
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, coding, and reconciliations
  • Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations
  • Review payroll-related entries and support payroll reconciliations in coordination with HR and payroll providers
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from Finance & Accounting leadership
  • Help document accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests
  • Support SOX or internal control initiatives as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and external vendors to resolve accounting issues
  • Support system implementations, integrations, and accounting process improvements as CloudFirst scales
