Position Summary Renewa is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities, including REIT-structured entities and related partnerships. This role will be responsible for general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and supporting month-end close activities in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in GAAP, thrives in a structured process-driven environment, and is eager to grow within a scaling organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience in multi-entity environments preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a structured close environment
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Process-oriented with continuous improvement mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with REIT or real estate accounting
  • Familiarity with intercompany accounting
  • Exposure to fixed asset modules or lease accounting
  • CPA track or CPA eligible

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, amortization, intercompany, etc.)
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in maintaining supporting schedules for financial statement preparation
  • Support preparation of monthly reporting packages
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across entities
  • Assist with eliminations and consolidation support
  • Maintain proper documentation for related-party transactions
  • Assist with tracking income and expense classifications to support REIT compliance
  • Maintain schedules supporting investor reporting and equity activity
  • Support preferred equity and capital activity accounting, as applicable
  • Maintain fixed asset roll forwards and depreciation schedules
  • Assist with lease accounting (ASC 842) support, if applicable
  • Track capital expenditures and proper classification
  • Review coding of invoices for accuracy
  • Assist with payment support and vendor reconciliations
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash activity review
  • Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests
  • Maintain organized documentation to support internal controls
  • Assist with annual financial statement preparation
