Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.  Job PurposeThe staff accountant will support the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in month-end and year-end close. Ensures compliance with accounting principles, practices, and company policies while contributing to the overall accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting processes. This role is onsite at our Richmond, KY facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with Accounting Software
  • Experience with monthly financial closings.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and ERP.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP and BaaN system experience a plus.
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Perform timely and thorough account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including variance analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting procedures.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory counts and assist with reconciliation of inventory records.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, support cost accounting activities, and provide insights for cost variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
