Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Portland. This role supports the day-to-day financial operations of the business and works closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial records. This position is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain broad exposure to accounting operations while building a strong foundation for future growth into senior accounting roles.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of related accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Process and apply customer payments and support accounts receivable activities
• Assist with vendor invoice processing and payment runs for accounts payable
• Respond to customer and vendor questions regarding statements, invoices, and payments
• Maintain vendor tax documentation and assist with annual 1099 preparation
• Support tax filings, audits, and other compliance-related requests
• Manage incoming mail and help organize financial documentation
• Maintain organized accounting records and assist with month-end close activities
• Provide general accounting support to the finance and accounting team
