We are looking to add a Staff Accountant who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, growing environment. Summary: The Staff Accountant provides support to the accounting team by performing basic accounting tasks, assisting with month-end close activities, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their accounting career who are eager to gain hands-on experience with general ledger functions, financial reporting, and compliance processes.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Acumatica, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively with senior team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Will consider all levels of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
  • Assist with bank and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate balancing of accounts.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries under supervision (accruals, adjustments, recurring entries).
  • Support month-end and year-end close by organizing documentation, running reports, and ensuring data completeness.
  • Help maintain the general ledger by verifying transaction accuracy and correcting simple errors.
  • Generate routine financial reports, spreadsheets, and support schedules for senior accountants.
  • Assist with invoice processing, expense reports, and vendor/customer account maintenance.
  • Maintain organized financial files, both electronic and physical, to support audits and compliance.
  • Support audits by retrieving backup documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to improve internal processes and ensure accounting standards are met.
