As the Staff Accountant you are responsible for: Processing accounts payable (AP) transactions for all subsidiaries. This includes review and verification of all bills for accuracy, check preparation, and correspondence mailing. Researches and resolves all open payable problems. Accurate general ledger (GL) coding of AP bills.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting preferred.
  • One to three years accounting experience or some comparable combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure company service standards are continually achieved in area of responsibility
  • Accurate and timely coding of all bills for payment
  • Maintain all accounts payable files and W-9 files for all vendors
  • Perform analysis and research of all open accounts payable problems
  • Prepare month end Accounts Payable accounting entries
  • Maintain all prepaid expenditures for accurate distribution to the general ledger
  • Process customer wire transfers in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare Accounts Payable 1099s
  • Prepare monthly sales use tax returns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations
