About The Position

Baratz & Associates, P.A. is seeking a Staff Accountant I – Audit to support our Not‑for‑Profit audit practice , including organizations subject to Single Audit and Yellow Book requirements . This role provides structured training and hands‑on exposure to governmental and nonprofit audit standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Working toward 150 credit hours and CPA eligibility.
• 0–2 years of audit or public accounting experience (internship preferred).
• Interest in Not‑for‑Profit and governmental auditing .
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office; audit software exposure a plus.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Not‑for‑Profit audit engagements , including organizations subject to Single Audit requirements.
• Perform audit procedures under supervision in accordance with firm methodology.
• Assist with testing of internal controls and compliance requirements.
• Prepare audit workpapers and supporting schedules.
• Gather and organize client documentation and follow up on audit requests.
• Learn and apply GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and Yellow Book standards.
• Communicate audit questions and issues to senior team members.
• Maintain professional conduct in all client and team interactions.
• Participate in firm training and professional development activities.
