About The Position
This is professional level accounting/analytical work in the City's Finance Department. Employees in this class are responsible for performing accounting and finance functions in assigned areas that include, but are not limited to general ledger, financial analysis and reporting, bank reconciliations, journal entry, general accounting, work paper preparation, as well as undertaking specific projects assigned. General supervision may be received from, and work reviewed by a Division Head including the Accounting Manager or designee. An employee in this classification is expected to learn the full scope of duties outlined below and exercise considerable judgment and discretion in solving the more challenging complexities arising out of financial transactions and analysis using generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
