Staff Accountant - Entry Level

Talbert, Bright & Ellington, Inc. (TBE) is a full-service, professional aviation engineering firm focused on the planning, design, and construction for airports in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Florida. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina for over 28 years, TBE employs more than 90 professionals. TBE is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant - Entry Level to support transactional accounting functions, accounts payable processing, and general accounting administration. This role will play a key part in supporting the accounting team as transaction volume increases and ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
- 0–5 years of related accounting or financial experience
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel preferred
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in engineering, construction, or architectural environments is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, processing, and entry of vendor invoices and employee expense reports
- Serve as primary support for Accounts Payable as transaction volume grows
- Support monthly billing cycles by gathering required backup documentation from project teams
- Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and match receipts to expense reports
- Support timekeeping compliance and follow up on missing or incomplete timesheets
- Assist with issuing client invoices and tracking payment activity
- Deposit and post accounts receivable collections, ensuring payments are applied accurately to the correct project
- Support month-end close activities and respond to audit requests as needed
