About The Position

Textron is seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant to join our corporate office accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining general ledgers for multiple entities, executing journal entries, completing balance sheet account reconciliations, and supporting the corporate office accounting team. Requirements

  • Must have strong work ethic and be able to meet critical deadlines.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and contribute to each month-end close process.
  • Maintain general ledgers for several corporate entities, including compiling month-end close packages and uploading into the consolidation system and preparing year-end templates utilized for 10-K Disclosures.
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries accurately and timely with documentation that clearly supports each entry.
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations utilizing Blackline account reconciliation system by verifying completeness and accuracy of data and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support external and internal audits and balance sheet reviews.
  • Prepare annual analysis of the Senior Management Prerequisites reporting.
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of control plan deliverables, in support of the enterprise-wide control plan.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting deliverables and contribute to special projects as requested.
  • Maintain and provide updates for Desktop Operating Procedures Manual to ensure current processes are reflected and that adequate controls are in place.
  • Seek methods to enhance overall efficiency and performance of this position.
  • Develop inter-departmental and cross-business unit relationships through assignments and networking opportunities.
