About The Position

Join CPA Accounting Consortium LLC, a professional CPA and accounting services firm in Washington Court House, OH that provides a wide range of tax, business consulting, small business accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services to individuals and businesses. We are seeking a dependable and proactive Staff Accountant / CPA to support our accounting and tax operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and client satisfaction. This hybrid role involves hands-on accounting duties and opportunities to work directly with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
  • Active CPA license (Preferred) or progress toward CPA certification
  • 1–3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or CPA firm environment
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, accounting ERPs) and advanced Excel skills
  • Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with tax compliance, payroll accounting, and audit support
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks training, setup, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with small business owners and diverse client portfolios
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Assist with financial reporting, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP and firm standards.
  • Support tax preparation and filing for individuals and small business clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processing, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver accurate payroll accounting and reporting, including tax withholding and compliance processes.
  • Provide accounting insights and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making for clients.
  • Prepare and submit financial and tax documentation to clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure adherence to all professional standards, ethical practices, and CPA firm policies.
