About The Position

As a Staff Accountant- Corporate Accounting , you’ll play an important role in helping us offer customized, self-funded insurance options to our clients and members. The Staff Accountant – Corporate Accounting supports the organization’s internal accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This role requires at least two (2) days per week onsite in our Exeter, NH office initially, with the possibility of becoming fully remote after successful training completion.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Prior experience with A/P or A/R strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with established accounting policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
