About The Position

Recovery Resource Council is looking for a conscientious, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual who is capable of successfully managing multiple tasks and responsibilities to assist Veterans who are currently homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Competencies, Knowledge, and Qualifications: Ability to work independently, one on one or as part of team Ability to motivate and lead a team in a positive manner Ability to assign tasks, oversee workflow, and provide guidance and feedback Committed to continuous training of staff Committed to modeling professional behavior, work ethic, and values of the agency Ability to organize and prioritize work Skill in formulating client housing stability goals and objectives Ability and dedication to provide effective, ethical case management Ability to uphold strong, healthy boundaries Knowledge of substance use disorders and mental health issues Ability to work flexible schedules including some nights and weekends Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Knowledge of community resources and ability to network Ability to plan, organize, set objectives, time frames, and prioritize Understanding of and willingness to practice trauma informed care Ability to periodically travel to the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, as well as other locations, for trainings, conferences, and meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant supervisory experience is required
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current Texas driver’s license and evidence of auto liability insurance

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or veterans is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct supervision to the Case Managers and Health Care Navigator/Employment Specialist
  • Provide direction and support to case managers as they serve the Veteran clients
  • Carry a small caseload of their own in the Amarillo area
  • Train and ensure that case managers follow procedure and guidelines of the SSVF grant
  • Responsible for leading case staffings, case conferencing, and other staff meetings
  • Support a cohesive team mentality, encouraging partnership between team members for the benefit of the client
  • Expand the Council’s reach with other organizations in the area
  • Work with the Assistant Director and Director of Housing Services to review policy and procedures
  • Use feedback from the SSVF Compliance Specialist to guide continuous quality management and improvement
