About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: SUMMER 2026 CENTRAL COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION SST SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST/ HOURLY

Requirements

• Candidates must be a New York State certified school psychologist.
• I t is required that candidates attach a PDF or a screenshot of their certifications .
• Candidates must have extensive knowledge of the Buffalo Public Schools Academic Achievement Plan, the role of the Committee on Special Education, Federal and State regulations pertaining to Special Education including the educational benefit review process, extensive knowledge of measuring student response to intervention (RTI) and successful parent relations at a school or district setting that are verifiable.
• Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified permanent/ tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school seniority.
• Summer school seniority is defined as previous years of BPS summer employment in a classroom setting.
• Only current and active BPS employees earn summer school seniority.
• By applying and accepting this position, you are agreeing to work the FULL duration of the program.
• Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for ONLY ONE of the summer programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mandated member of the Committee on Special Education.
• Conduct mandated Psychological/Educational evaluations per State and Federal Regulations.
• Prepare written reports and assist in the development of Individual Education Plans for students with disabilities including computer input into IEP software.
• Work with teachers and staff to develop appropriate Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
• Perform any assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate.
