Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary Propulsion thermal system modeling is a mission-critical function at Rivian, enabling the virtual validation of propulsion cooling and refrigerant systems before physical SOP. In this role, you will lead the development of high-fidelity 1D and 3D CFD models to represent complex thermal responses at the vehicle level. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between component-level design and vehicle-level performance, specifically for the existing and future platforms. This involves pushing the boundaries of simulation, from two-phase refrigeration CFD to 0D/1D drive-cycle system integration, to ensure our vehicles achieve industry-leading efficiency, range, and thermal reliability.
