Addepar

About The Position

Addepar is a global data and AI platform empowering investment professionals to turn complex financial information into actionable intelligence. Addepar unifies portfolio, market and client data in a total portfolio view and delivers AI-powered insights within investment and client workflows. More than 1,400 firms in nearly 60 countries use Addepar to manage and advise on nearly $9 trillion in assets. Its open platform integrates with nearly 650 software, data and consulting partners to power end-to-end investment operations across firms of all sizes and complexity. Addepar supports clients worldwide with offices in New York City, Salt Lake City, London, Edinburgh, Pune, Dubai, Geneva and São Paulo. At Addepar, we’re empowering a global ecosystem of partners to build on our platform. To achieve this, we must provide developers with world-class resources that empower them to deliver their best work. This role isn’t a traditional writing role. Instead, you’ll sit at the intersection of writing and experimenting with the latest AI documentation tools. As our technical writer for API docs, you’ll be the primary architect for developer-facing content. Beyond that, you’ll also define how Addepar leverages AI and automation to ensure our technical content remains current, correct, and complete. You’ll report to the Head of Design for Platform Adoption. Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Canada. The current range for this role is $87,000 - $109,000(base salary) + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Additionally, these ranges reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country where this role is based on the first day of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be based in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario.

  • 5+ years of experience writing API documentation (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.).
  • Comfortable reading code (Python, Java, or similar) and using developer tools like Postman, GitHub, and CLI environments.
  • Deep experience with ReadMe or similar documentation platforms. Knowledge of Markdown and "docs-as-code" workflows is essential.
  • A forward-thinking mindset regarding AI. You should be familiar with LLMs and how structured documentation feeds into AI-driven support and development tools.

  • Ability to distill highly complex backend logic into simple, actionable guidance for external partners.
  • Ability to manage varied workloads and tight timelines, communicating across multiple time zones.
  • High emotional intelligence. People enjoy working with you!
  • An inspiring portfolio that showcases how you approach API documentation.
