About The Position

Ambient.ai is seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Technical Recruiter to lead and scale our technical hiring engine. You will be a player-coach, driving both the overarching strategy, fully cycle recruiting on a number of roles and directly managing a team, all while maintaining a deep connection to the Bay Area talent market and full-cycle recruiting. This role is pivotal in ensuring we meet our ambitious growth goals by attracting, engaging, and hiring world-class engineering talent.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a minimum of 1+ years in a people management role, successfully leading and scaling a technical recruiting team.
  • Prior startup experience is a must; you thrive in a fast-moving, often ambiguous, and decentralized environment and are comfortable acting as a self-starter.
  • Successful track record of personally sourcing and closing a wide range of technical roles, from entry-level to director-level.
  • Expert-level experience using modern Applicant Tracking Systems, specifically Ashby.
  • Proficiency with curated recruiting platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Juicebox, and other modern sourcing tools.
  • The proven ability to create positive and lasting relationships with all 'customers,' including candidates, hiring managers, and business partners.
  • Highly organized and metrics-driven, with a focus on data integrity and using insights to drive decision-making.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with candidates and stakeholders from many different countries and cultures.
  • Expertise in designing effective job descriptions and interview questions that accurately reflect role requirements and our unique culture.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting ongoing load of 3-5 P0 requisitions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the full-cycle recruitment process—from research and sourcing to behavioral interviewing and closing—to lead by example and jump in on critical roles as needed.
  • Possess a deep technical acumen and ability to effectively screen and discuss software engineering skills across various domains, including backend, front-end, Applied Research Scientists, and more.
  • Own the ability to articulate the value proposition of a venture-backed startup, including a strong understanding of equity and stock options, to successfully close director-level and senior technical talent.
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to Ambient.ai’s Engineering leadership to define, forecast, and execute on long-term talent acquisition needs and workforce planning.
  • Influence Ambient.ai’s strategic direction with real-time knowledge from the technical talent market (e.g., where to find particular skill sets, competitive salary expectations, and innovative hiring practices).
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine our end-to-end recruiting process to ensure a smooth, positive, and equitable experience for all candidates.
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques to ensure Ambient.ai maintains a competitive edge with state-of-the-art and non-traditional recruiting practices.
