About The Position

The Sr. Engineering Team Lead SCADA is an engineering management position responsible for providing complete oversight for the direction, planning, management, and ongoing engineering operations on a regional basis. This role involves providing input on strategic decision-making and processes to the VP, Engineering and other Directors and Officers. Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of all configuration of SEL automation, communication products and engineering software, e.g., RTAC, Rugged Computers, DPAC, RTUs, design/development suite of HMI applications using Ignition, Zenon, etc.
  • Advanced management skills are required, including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development and advancement planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.
  • Advanced understanding of server/client SCADA applications.
  • Advanced understand, use, and deploy industry standard protocols – Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850, C37.118, protocol analyzers.
  • Experience with industry standard time synchronization protocols/method - IEEE1588/PTP, NTP, SNTP, IRIG, etc.
  • Experience with IEC-61131-3 or any other object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience in performing system checkout, factory acceptance testing, and commissioning for substation automation/communication scope of work.
  • Advanced understanding of NERC-PRC/CIP requirements.
  • Advanced understanding of networking principles including the basics of routing, switching, IP address subnetting, firewall configuration/operation and network design and protocols such as PRP, HSR etc.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, Trade Partners, and others.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or related experience.
  • Typically requires 12 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Possess the ability to understand project requirements and develop a design fee for the work requested.
  • Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources.
  • Oversee and evaluate current team and project resource allocation as well as fee disposition.
  • Oversee Engineering Team Leads, Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work.
  • Communicate with Project Executive (PX) or Division Manager (DM) regarding effort required to accomplish and expected deliverable along with project support.
  • Develop or oversee requests for additional services for submittal to the PM team or Owner.
  • Oversee the Engineering CAC effort in support of the projects assigned to Engineering Team Leads under their supervision.
  • QAQC of project designs developed Engineering Teams under their supervision.
  • Technical problem resolution.
  • Supervise the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform Value Engineering studies.
