About The Position

Systems Engineer role on the Joint Strike Fighter Training & Logistics program (Pilot Training Device – PTD). Work side‑by‑side with the Software Configuration Analyst team and Media Prep. Lead the end‑to‑end PTD configuration‑change process: capture, review, approve, and release changes in compliance with Lockheed Martin policies. Initiate, evaluate, and track all PTD change requests from concept through release. Coordinate with engineering, logistics, program management, and government stakeholders to gather data and approvals. Verify compliance with configuration‑management policies, standards, and export controls. Prepare and package PTD releases for internal teams and external government customers. Ensure release documentation (release notes, engineering documents) accompanies each shipment. Use MS Office, Atlassian tools, DOORS Next, and Bash/Python/PowerShell scripts to streamline change tracking, reporting, and data migration. Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort. Serve as primary point of contact for PTD status, risks, and schedule impacts. Produce regular status briefings and dashboards for program leadership and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • 5 or more years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience with JSF Pilot Training Devices or FMS
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Configuration/Data Management Systems
  • Experience with work tracking and metric generation in JIRA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in engineering tools; GitLab, JIRA, Confluence
  • Demonstrated track record of solving problems and implement constructive changes
  • Experience using hardware and software systems
  • Experience with IBM Engineering Life Cycle Management (ELM)
