Summary of the Job: Responsible for implementing, administering, monitoring and troubleshooting HPE NonStop infrastructure systems. Ability to demonstrate expertise in said architecture, performance optimization, security best practices and continuous maintenance practices for critical systems. Ability to work closely with other team members, software & hardware vendors and end-users to collaboratively design technical solutions that meet business needs. Serve as a technical resource regarding the implementation and optimization of complex server-based configurations by providing expertise in various infrastructure platforms that include storage management, disaster recovery systems architecture, patch management and backup and recovery. About This Role: Sr. Systems Engineer: Utilizes industry best practices to continuously develop and maintain a resilient, secure, scalable and efficient platform. Responsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance and administration of HPE NonStop hardware and related devices and software. Provide expertise to critical production issues and provide hands-on support when work volume dictates. Responsible for maintaining monitoring tools related to the hardware and associated devices. Accountable for the administration of the organization’s backup, disaster recovery systems, and processes. Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and administration of the organization’s security patching systems for all server infrastructure. Regularly apply upgrades and patches for the associated server operating systems, software and hardware. Work collaboratively to assist others in the deployment of application-based patches. Responsible for implementing and remediating security vulnerabilities Ability to leverage group policy management when possible Work collaboratively with other groups when managing changes that can impact the system health. The Ideal Candidate for This Role: Sr. Systems Engineer Ideal candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree in the related area with 5+ years of experience directly supporting HPE NonStop hardware in an enterprise server environment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating team building attitude and skills.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience supporting and managing change to the HPE NonStop platform. Including experience patching hardware and all components.
  • 8 or more years of experience supporting Hardware Security Module’s, preferably Atalla
  • Advanced experience of the HPE concepts and facilities.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to learn new skills.
  • Programming experience required
  • Understands and anticipates customer and employee needs and takes action to ensure products and service exceed their expectations.
  • Works in partnership with others across the organization to accomplish set goals and objectives.
  • Recognizes and is open to changing circumstances and alters behaviors as necessary.
  • Self-starter that recognizes what needs to be done and acts in a timely manner.
  • Takes responsibility for achieving job requirements, tasks and objectives even if other resources are required.
  • Proactively develops personal knowledge, skills and abilities to continuously improve and grow.
  • Ability to anticipate, recognize and clearly define problems using various techniques to systematically analyze, weigh alternatives and propose solutions.
  • Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience with the Prognosis monitoring tool
  • XYPRO product experience desired.
  • RDF/ DRNET (data replication) experience desired.
