This role is open to P&W internal to engineering candidates only What you Will Do: Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to commercial engine hot and cold section rotating components. Knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS), and the Product Design Review process. Coordinate structural analysis requirements for repairs with other ASE technical disciplines and module centers/Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs). Provide technical coaching and mentoring to entry level structures engineers. Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to provide design solutions that meet design and life requirements. Work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable. Analysis may include both classical methods and/or detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) ASE Structures provides a work environment that fosters increased development fundamentals with knowledge development of fracture mechanics and finite element analysis (ANSYS) modeling, as well as good engineering judgment, with an eye on “common sense”. Coordinate with others to advance the technology and improve engineering processes/methods, plus document and present results to management and other technical leaders. Knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS), and the Product Design Review process. Primary focal for structural analysis memos (SAMs).
