Software is an integral part in realizing this vision and we are hiring a software manager to play a leadership role shaping our future. Position Summary: The Sr. Staff Analyst, Business Optimization will focus on bridging operational excellence with financial accountability. This role is responsible for integrating accounting processes into project workflows, implementing cost control measures, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to map interactions between cross-functional teams. The goal is to improve transparency, optimize processes, and enhance tooling across the organization. The successful candidate will have experience in process design, cost analysis, and ERP systems, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position is remote and serves within the Operational Excellence function for projects across the United States.

Requirements

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience. Barriers to entry may require committee review.

Nice To Haves

Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Sitetracker) and financial reporting tools; Tableau experience is a plus.
Proven ability to design and implement SOPs and process maps.
Skilled in analyzing large datasets to derive insights for operational and financial decision-making.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion.
Experience influencing stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Accounting Integration & Cost Controls
Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to embed cost control mechanisms into project workflows.
Monitor and analyze project costs, budgets, and variances to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Develop reporting structures that link operational performance with financial outcomes.
Process Mapping & SOP Development
Design and document SOPs for key business processes, focusing on cross-team interactions and integrations.
Map end-to-end workflows between departments (Engineering, Deployment, Accounting, etc.) to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation.
Standardize processes to ensure consistency and scalability across the organization.
Assist designing and implementing financial system controls and data governance protocols within ERP and project management tools.
Create dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insights into cost performance accuracy and operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to tools and processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a liaison between Accounting, Project Engineering, and Operational teams to align financial and operational objectives.
Facilitate training and adoption of new SOPs and cost control processes across teams.
