About The Position

Join a leading manufacturing organization as a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, where you'll serve as the EHS Site Lead responsible for maintaining and advancing workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive, experienced professional with a passion for ensuring safe operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment that produces high-performance pressure vessels and related components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience managing environmental, health, and safety programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA General and Construction Safety standards.
  • Experience with hazardous waste management, including RCRA and DOT requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (air, water, stormwater, waste, EPCRA/SARA), including permitting and compliance.
  • Experience with life safety programs such as confined space, lockout/tagout, hot work, and working at heights.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, ergonomics, incident investigations, and industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration; analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work varying shifts to support ongoing operations.

  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 lbs and work in positions requiring walking, climbing, or crouching.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed for training, audits, or project support.
  • Experience utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and respiratory protection.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all facility and equipment maintenance activities by collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and landlords to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Partner with management, employees, and customers to implement occupational health, construction safety, ergonomics, and environmental health programs. Ensure activities align with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design, direct, and assess programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Focus areas include facility safety, contractor safety management, sustainability, and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Evaluate emerging regulations and their potential impact on operations. Conduct safety analyses, coordinate resolutions, recommend hazard control measures, and participate in design reviews to ensure safe engineering practices.
  • Research and apply new risk management technologies. Provide expert-level regulatory interpretation, training, and technical support to leadership and employees to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and collaborate with EHS professionals across the organization to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
