About The Position

This role involves helping U.S. Department of War organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems using the latest cloud computing technologies. The Solutions Architect will assist these groups in understanding application architectures and integration approaches, and provide consultative skills to ensure project success. As part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, the role aims to accelerate the U.S. War Department business by shaping and delivering a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront) with customers and system integrators. Key aspects include owning technical engagements, defining implementation architectures, contributing to RFI/RFP responses, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies, and acting as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services. The position requires providing thoughtful technical design, understanding customer needs for cloud computing, leading knowledge sharing within the AWS solution architect community, and collaborating with industry technical minds across enterprise architecture.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Associate's degree or above, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • US Citizen

  • Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
  • Defining implementation architectures

  • Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
  • Provide thoughtful technical design and offer sensitivity to our customer needs for cloud computing
  • Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
  • Learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture
