Requirements

• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Design and maintain fault-tolerant, scalable distributed services and backend systems
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with core AWS services
• Experience with Azure
• Experience with mentoring and actively collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, and support
• Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, Apache Kafka, Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon SQS
• Experience with Python

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level software designs and architecture for complex systems using experience with building services on public cloud-AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Analyze and improve software application performance and scalability to ensure the software meets quality standards and user requirements.
• Write, review, and optimize code, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and follows best practices
• Identify technical challenges and propose im1ovative solutions by staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and tracking to ensure timely delivery of software components for fault-tolerant and scalable distributed systems and backend systems.
• Lead technical discussions and decision-making processes; advocate for best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement.
• Help define and manage the technology roadmap and prioritize technical debt and feature development.
• Implement security best practices to protect data and systems.
• Conduct security reviews and address vulnerabilities during the development and testing phases.
• Research the latest advancements in technology and methodologies, pursue certifications, attend workshops, and participate in professional networks.
• Clearly articulate ideas and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and listen/understand the needs and concerns of others.
• Lead projects and mentor all levels of engineering staff, along with managing relationships with Product, Engineering Operations, and non-technical business and support teams.
• Manage software infrastructure as code using Terraform.
