About The Position

The Senior Signaling Systems Designer is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and understanding fire alarm systems for coordination and design purposes; revise drawings as needed from quality control and/or AHJ/client reviews. Print, plot and process drawings for internal and external use. The Senior Signaling Systems Designer will mentor junior designers, when needed. Role and Responsibilities As a Senior Signaling Systems Designer, you will independently manage complex or large design projects, as well as mentor junior designers and lead design efforts. There is ample opportunity for development within our company, and travel is available, if desired. More specifically you will:

Requirements

7-10 years CAD design experience in the Architectural, Construction or MEP trade required
High School or GED, required
Working competency with MS Office software
Demonstrated proficiency in verbal, written, presentation skills

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in REVIT, preferred
NICET certification in Level III, preferred
2 years’ college or specialized training in Fire Protection or CAD Technical School; Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Engineering, or CAD, preferred.

Responsibilities

Design fire alarm systems using AutoCAD within the time constraints established by the task.
Responsible for reviewing consulting documents, fire sprinkler drawings, survey documents and applying them to the fire alarm design.
Responsible for sending out client deliverables.
Responsible for putting drawing submittal packages together for submittal to the AHJ.
Making changes to the fire alarm drawings from QC/peer reviews.
Mentor junior designers, when needed.
