About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or manage activities relating to planning, designing, building, and maintaining IT services, projects, portfolios, products, and processes. The role involves creating and assigning detailed tasks to subordinates and has budget responsibility for a small project, sub-project, or process component. The position is expected to work under minimal supervision and is hybrid, requiring employees to be in the office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Responsibilities

  • Perform, manage and appropriately document work activities relating to IT service portfolios or products in support of business partners.
  • Lead IT activities required to manage service level agreements.
  • Assist others in long range portfolio planning and prioritizing work and work schedule within the confines of current year financial commitments.
  • Assist in creation of documentation for products and services.
  • Use best practices to improve products and services provided to business unit partners, and monitor adherence within Team/Group to standards as defined within the Management Model.
  • Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders.
  • Establish positive team environment by proactively assisting and training less experienced personnel.
  • Provide performance and development feedback as required.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 4 to 7 years experience in Information Technology or, in lieu of a degree, 6 to 9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with data analysis in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis ability.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work with remote project teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with developing Java web applications, using Oracle, MS SQL, and hosted in Websphere or Weblogic.
  • Experience with UNIX administration and UNIX scripting.
  • Experience with Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • PMP, CAPM, or Scrum Master certifications.
