About The Position

The Server Administrator performs the following responsibilities at the experienced level: Administers global Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. Administers global VMware virtual environments. Administers storage environment (i.e. VxRail, Nimble, Nutanix). Architect datacenter solutions. Support all datacenter operations including configuration, day to day management, backups, and disaster recovery. Monitor system performance and ensure server availability and reliability. Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization. Implement, maintain, and test system backup and recovery processes (Veeam). Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems as they arise. Works with application team or vendors to ensure proper design and implementation of all server application deployments. Provide level II and III support, incident and problem resolution within service level agreements for server hardware, software, and related end user devices. Works with internal IT Security team and cybersecurity vendors to identify and implement established policies and ensure that Tekni-Plex’s servers are secure. Maintain up to date and detailed documentation of server configurations, operations, and changes. Develop and implement IT policies, procedures and standards, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision. Provide technical support and training to internal staff. Responsible for working with vendors to ensure proper server capacity planning by monitoring system resource utilizations, analyzing trends and making upgrade recommendations. Assist in the technology evaluation and selection processes of server solutions, ensuring compatibility between client requirements and technical performance. Documents analysis and recommendations. Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic. Travel required as needed – 25% All other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • 10 + years of experience in Windows/VMware administration.
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Windows Server, Client OS, and VMware ESXI.
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud computing services for datacenter.
  • Experience with NIST framework and ISO 270001 cybersecurity standards.
  • Experience in a fast paced 24/7 global environment desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Dell server and storage platforms desired (VxRail).
  • Experience with Powershell or other automation tools desired.
  • Experience with Veeam and Endpoint central desired.
