Requirements

  • Have a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in natural sciences (e.g. Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biology).
  • Possess 8+ years of professional experience in consumer safety or human health related regulatory science or a related field. Management experience leading technical teams will be a plus.
  • Display strong project management skills and a continued interest in further improvement, with the ability to lead multiple complex projects and to meet diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with well-established capability to present scientific findings and to advise stakeholders about critical issues with argumentation based on scientific data.
  • Are able to travel up to 5%, domestically and internationally.

  • Management experience leading technical teams will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Representing active substances under your responsibility in internal expert teams.
  • Planning and coordinating the conduct of scientific studies as required by guidelines.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to support product safety.
  • Preparing data submissions / dossiers to global authorities and international bodies.
  • Identifying regulatory hurdles and develop regulatory science strategies. In addition, you will proactively monitor and anticipate the regulatory changes in your area of expertise with focus on United States and Canada, but also on global level.
  • Developing a network with your peers from other companies and authorities to address upcoming issues proactively. You will also represent BASF in regulatory working groups of (non)governmental associations related with consumer safety as required.
