About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative with a focus on substation automation and an in-depth understanding of Distribution Automation (DA) within the power utilities industry. The successful candidate will leverage 8+ years of proven sales expertise specifically related to RTUs for substation applications.

Requirements

  • 8+ Years in Substation Automation Sales: Proven track record in sales specifically related to substation automation, with a focus on RTUs.
  • Distribution Automation Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Distribution Automation (DA) processes, protocols, and industry trends.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical acumen related to Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and their integration into substation automation systems.
  • Client Relationships: Established network and relationships within the power utilities sector, particularly with professionals involved in substation automation.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and market dynamics within the distribution automation space.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical details in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to engage with clients, attend industry events, and build relationships within the substation automation sector (Up to 50% Travel in the US and Canada)

Responsibilities

  • Substation Automation Expertise: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of substation automation, including Distribution Automation (DA) processes, protocols, and industry standards.
  • RTU Technical Acumen: Possess an in-depth understanding of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and their role in substation automation, with the ability to convey technical details effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with key decision-makers in power utilities, understanding their substation automation needs, and providing tailored solutions using our RTU products. Close deals, negotiate price, and contract terms with customers and address customer concerns and objections.
  • Industry Networking: Actively participate in industry forums, conferences, and events related to Distribution Automation and substation automation, building a strong network within the sector.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the power utilities industry, collaborating with R&D and manufacturing so to ensure that our RTU solutions align with industry expectations.
  • Solution Selling: Develop and present comprehensive solutions that address the specific challenges and requirements of clients in the substation automation space. Address objections and concerns about the hardware, being knowledgeable about the RTU's features, benefits, and limitations and provide compelling responses to customer questions also in collaboration with internal departments of R&D and Manufacturing when required.
  • Demo: Maintain updated and functional demo equipment.
  • Training and Continuous Learning: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our RTU products, facilitating effective communication with clients.
  • Market Positioning: Contribute to the development of marketing materials that highlight the unique features and benefits of our RTU solutions for substation automation.
  • REPs engagement: collaborate and coordinate activity with REP agencies to promote our products and increase sales
