About The Position

Gray Hawk Land Solutions is seeking a Senior Renewables Right of Way Agent for an immediate opening in North Carolina. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in negotiating leases within the Renewable Energy Sector, with additional experience in negotiating agreements for Electric Transmission projects being a plus. This role requires a self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision, has experience negotiating Solar Leases, and holds a current North Carolina Real Estate License. The position is remote but requires travel to meet with landowners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstratable experience negotiating leases in the Renewable Energy Sector
  • Experience negotiating Solar Leases
  • Current North Carolina Real Estate License
  • Self-starter and able to perform tasks with very little or no supervision
  • Mapping software experience (GIS, Google Earth, etc.)
  • Ability to navigate client databases
  • Ability to conduct online research
  • Demonstrate excellent computer knowledge through effective use of software including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Earth, Online Land Records Systems, Adobe PDF, and database use
  • Able to work well in a team environment or an individual role
  • Must be located in North Carolina
  • Available to travel as needed to meet with landowner

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience negotiating agreements for Electric Transmission projects

Responsibilities

  • Understand working with Renewable Energy, specifically solar and battery storage, to negotiate leases
  • Negotiate terms and draft agreements as necessary
  • Explain how Solar Energy development works thoroughly
  • Understand Solar lease agreements, typical lease duration, the infrastructure involved, typical payment schedules, etc.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with surface owners, local government officials, and agencies
  • Represent client and self with professionalism and integrity
  • Relate to people from various backgrounds
  • Diffuse tense situations quickly
