About The Position

Gray Hawk Land Solutions is seeking a Sr. Right-of-Way Agent in Clarksburg, West Virginia. This position requires a self-starter capable of performing tasks with minimal to no supervision. The role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with surface owners and local government officials, representing the client with professionalism, and negotiating terms for various surface agreements including surface use agreements, pipeline rights of way, and easements. The agent will also be responsible for settling surface damages and ensuring necessary access to company assets. A thorough understanding of surface use agreements, easements, pipeline ROW, surface titles, and relevant government laws/regulations is essential. Key duties include conducting internal and external title research, interpreting and redlining drawings, navigating multiple client databases, and performing online research. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and mapping software is also required.

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter and able to perform the tasks with very little or no supervision
  • Able to relate to people from various backgrounds
  • Able to diffuse tense situations quickly
  • Thorough understanding of surface use agreements, easements, pipeline ROW, surface titles, and gov't laws/regulations related to Right of Way operations
  • Able to conduct internal title research and external title research in the courthouse with no supervision
  • Mapping software experience (GIS, Google Earth, ability to deed plot, ability to learn any client internal mapping systems)
  • Ability to interpret drawings and redline where needed (Alignment drawings, Certified Property Plats, Permit Drawings, Temporary Workspace Drawings, Construction Access Drawings)
  • Ability to navigate multiple client databases
  • Ability to conduct online research
  • Demonstrate excellent computer knowledge through effective use of software including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) and database use
  • Able to work well in a team environment or an individual role
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Right-of-Way industry primarily dealing with negotiations of easements for pipelines
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or High School graduate
