About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, including the application of Standalone Selling Price (SSP) models, contract review and the management of multi-element arrangements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance (required)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in public accounting (with public company clients) and/or corporate revenue accounting involving the application of ASC 606, including SSP models and multi-element arrangements
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a solid understanding of project financial management, including POC calculations and billing practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and work cross-functionally with multiple teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to participate in solutions to complex and/or unusual accounting issues
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

  • CPA License (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS, Oracle RMCS, Agile, Oracle Noetix, Salesforce.com, and Hyperion Financial Management systems preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Recognition: Review customer purchase orders and contracts to determine the appropriate ASC 606 revenue accounting for each arrangement. Provide technical guidance to stakeholders based on contract analysis and findings.
  • Standalone Selling Price Models: Maintain SSP models to appropriately allocate revenue among multiple performance obligations in contracts.
  • Multi-element Arrangements: Manage and execute accounting processes for complex multi-element arrangements, ensuring each component is recognized in accordance with the applicable accounting standards. Research transactional histories and provide insight on application of ASC606 for specific transactions back to the business.
  • Month End: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables
  • Reporting and Analysis: Assist with revenue related disclosures in the Company’s public filings. Prepare and update detailed revenue reporting including variance analysis, revenue trends and product line level details.
  • Project Work: Responsible for calculating project progress using the percentage-of-completion (POC) method, while maintaining accurate expense tracking, organizing receipts, and supporting timely and accurate client billing
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, sales operations, order management and legal, to evaluate contracts and assess revenue implications.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain appropriate rigor over the performance of existing process and entity level controls in areas of responsibility.
  • Audit Support: Support successful, timely completion of internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and participating in walkthroughs and other information sessions around revenue recognition policies and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the revenue accounting function and recommend best practice examples for consideration by management.
