The Sr. Research Assistant supports the Mellon-funded Black Miami Studies Initiative. With a key stated deliverable of the grant to develop a digital humanities platform to serve as a learning tool, the Sr. Research Assistant will be instrumental to the design and implementation of this and other related tasks. The core role facilitates research, assists with conceptualizing, curating and uploading data on a digital humanities platform, preparing reports for foundations and other stakeholders. Research Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature. Identifies emerging issues to inform program resources and initiatives. Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations. Assists in preparation of papers, reports, manuscripts and other deliverables. Event Planning and Execution Supports planning of convenings/symposia. Organizes, attends and participates in project meetings. Prepares necessary presentation materials for project meetings. Records minutes and takes detailed notes during meetings. Assists with budget preparation and assists with tracking all project related expenditures. Monitors project progress and address any issues that arise. Assists with the identification of completion shortfalls. Acts as the point of contact and communicates the project status to relevant stakeholders. Communicates timeline changes and new information to project team. Reports for Foundation Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports. Ensures all needed documentation is current and properly filed and stored. Ensures adherence to standards and requirements by reviewing project objectives against deliverables. Adheres to University and unit-level policy and procedures and safeguards University assets.
