Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Job PurposeThe Senior Quality Engineer will lead and implement internal and external process quality activities and improvements following ISO, ITAF, and Dana Operating System. This role is a senior level quality role with an emphasis on continuous improvement, coaching and instructing others in advanced structured problem-solving techniques.

Requirements

  • Mastered Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering
  • Strong project management skills and leadership abilities
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in the use of Minitab or other statistical analysis programs
  • Proficient in the understanding of Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in understanding of APQP and program management techniques
  • 5+ years automotive experience - Stellantis preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma or Shanin Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in Quality related statistics.
  • Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred, or attained within one year of hire/placement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts to identify root causes and implement effective countermeasures for customer quality, scrap and FTT problems
  • Lead projects using the application of continuous improvement tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, lean, etc.
  • Coach and train others in the use of structured problem-solving techniques
  • Assist and lead process improvements and data analysis
  • Lead, coach, and train others to perform MSA and capability studies
  • Support FMEA, control plan and work instruction development as part of a cross-functional team
  • Address quality rejects and customer returned material
  • Monitor, analyze and report on facility key indicators and associated improvement action plans
  • Assist in supplier development
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct process capability studies and quality audits.
  • Conduct customer visits and reviews.
  • Other duties as required.
