The Novelis Davenport team is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer at our Casting and Finishing Plants! The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with the plant’s quality management system. This role leads and collaborates with process engineering teams to audit, enhance, and implement quality systems and controls that support the production of competitive products aligned with customer requirements and business objectives. Demonstrating specialized technical expertise, the Sr. Quality Engineer contributes to the design, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment, while ensuring alignment to established quality standards and maintaining the desired level of product quality.

  • Implement quality control procedures, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance product quality.
  • Design and install sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
  • Analyze reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve quality issues and provide guidance and training to junior quality engineers.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment
  • Conduct quality assurance tests and performing statistical analysis to assess the level of control and manage product quality risks
  • Undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action
  • Ensure that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is aligned with requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy Engineering field
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a Heavy Manufacturing environment
  • Master’s Degree in Metallurgy
  • 5+ years of experience
