  • Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
  • 4-year degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in metrology, quality inspection, or dimensional measurement within a precision manufacturing environment and supplier evaluation required.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and AS9102 FAI requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with RF, microwave, or precision electronic components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced dimensional inspections of precision RF filter components and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and Multi-Sensor Measurement Systems.
  • Develop, review, and improve inspection methods, measurement plans, and work instructions.
  • Conduct and analyze measurement system evaluations, including Gage R&R and uncertainty analyses.
  • Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) and customer-required inspection documentation (e.g., AS9102).
  • Investigate measurement-related non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to interpret complex drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to Inspectors and Engineers.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA, 8D, DMAIC) for supplier nonconformances and escapes
  • Review and provide feedback on supplier documentation, including FAI (AS9102) and SCAR responses
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers on supplier-related issues impacting performance, reliability, or manufacturability
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics (yield, defect rates, OTD) and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform supplier audits (on-site and remote), including initial qualification, surveillance, and special process audits
