About The Position

A.O. Smith Corporation (Lebanon, TN) seeks to hire a Sr. Quality Engineer. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field or its equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, quality and/or technical engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. The candidate must also have demonstrated technical skills in quality processes and problem solving disciplines such as 8D and/or 5P. The specific job responsibilities of the position include: (i) Conduct root cause analysis to determine the cause of quality problems and implement corrective /preventative actions to improve quality and minimize variability; (ii) review quality analysis conclusions and recommend necessary procedural changes (30%); (iii) implement and monitor internal quality controls and testing to meet quality procedures and norms and validate quality processes within manufacturing to systematically measure, compare, and monitor processes that provide a feedback loop and leads to error prevention (30%); (iv) develop and assist in Process and Design FMEAs and Process Control Plans; (v) develop and coordinate Design of Experiments (DOE), process baselines, and Poka Yoke (mistake-proofing) (30%); and (vi) analyze data using statistical tools and computer data acquisition systems and generate reports for senior management (10%). Requirements
