This position combines advanced inspection expertise with leadership responsibilities, including work assignment, time management, performance oversight, training, and quality issue escalation. The Senior QC Lead also supports nonconformance management, quality data trending, corrective actions, and customer complaint investigations in coordination with Quality leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight Lead and oversee all Quality Control Inspectors, ensuring inspection activities are properly staffed, prioritized, and executed. Assign daily work, manage inspector schedules and working hours, and adjust coverage based on production demands. Provide direction, guidance, and technical support to inspectors performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections. Serve as the primary escalation point for inspection-related issues, conflicts, or interpretation of requirements. Conduct performance reviews; provide coaching and feedback; and support corrective or disciplinary actions in accordance with company processes. Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor to reinforce quality expectations and support Manufacturing operations. Quality Control Execution, Nonconformance & Improvement Oversee and execute daily Quality Control inspection activities, ensuring receiving, in-process, and final inspections are performed in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Provide hands-on technical support to QC Inspectors, including performing inspections as needed to support operations, resolve complex quality issues, or maintain workflow continuity. Review inspection records, reports, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Ensure nonconforming material is properly identified, segregated, documented, and controlled throughout the inspection and disposition process. Initiate, review, and manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) using the NCP Web system, ensuring timely investigation, disposition, and closure. Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by assisting with investigations, data collection, and execution of approved dispositions. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action development for internal quality issues and customer complaints related to inspection and product acceptance. Monitor, analyze, and trend inspection and nonconformance data to identify recurring defects, inspection escapes, process weaknesses, and improvement opportunities. Communicate quality trends, risks, and recommendations to the Quality Manager, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing leadership. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inspection effectiveness, defect reduction, and overall product quality. Training & Competency Train, mentor, and develop Quality Control Inspectors across all levels. Verify inspectors are qualified and competent to perform assigned inspection activities. Assist with the development and improvement of inspection-related work instructions and training materials. Ensure inspectors understand customer-specific requirements and critical product characteristics. Coordination & Communication Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to align inspection activities with production schedules and operational priorities. Support customer complaint investigations related to inspection or product acceptance issues. Communicate quality concerns, risks, and priorities clearly to inspectors and cross-functional teams. Safety & Compliance Ensure Quality Control activities are performed in compliance with safety requirements and company policies. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality within the QC team. Other Duties Perform other duties assigned to support Quality Control and organizational objectives.
