About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality programs, processes, and procedures. Guide cross-functional teams in evaluating and enhancing systems that support organizational quality objectives. Serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to the development of advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Analyze complex and ambiguous problems, developing innovative and effective solutions. Influence long-term strategies, future technologies, and organizational objectives through expert insight and leadership. Establish and maintain formal networks across internal teams and external stakeholders to drive alignment and results. Provide consultative direction on high-impact, high-visibility initiatives. Evaluate data and situations involving both tangible and intangible factors to inform decision-making. Lead or support initiatives involving process optimization, compliance, and performance improvement. Operate with a high degree of autonomy, initiating and executing assignments aligned with long-range goals. Requirements Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, quality assurance, industrial systems engineering, or related field and 12+ years of related experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. Demonstrated expertise in quality program development, implementation, and evaluation. Proven ability to work on complex, high-impact problems requiring innovative solutions. Experience influencing organizational strategy, policies, or long-term objectives. Strong understanding of professional principles, theories, and industry standards. Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and high accountability. Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines and organizational levels. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including evaluation of complex data sets and abstract variables. Desired Skills Professional certifications (e.g., quality, engineering, or process improvement-related certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma, etc.). Exceptional leadership and influence skills without direct authority. Experience building and maintaining cross-functional and external stakeholder networks. Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Strategic thinking with the ability to align technical solutions to business objectives. Demonstrated ability to develop innovative approaches to complex technical or organizational challenges. Experience in highly regulated or technical environments (e.g., laboratory, manufacturing, or government sectors). About the Site The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons.
