About The Position

Our client City of Houston is in need of a Senior Public Health Investigator. This is a temporary position. The Senior Public Health Investigator leads advanced TB and TBI disease investigation and intervention activities, including complex case investigations, contact tracing, treatment adherence monitoring, documentation, and care coordination in accordance with public health guidelines. The role also provides mentorship to investigative staff and collaborates with healthcare providers and community partners to support effective disease control.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Public Health or a closely related field
• Requires a valid Texas driver's license
• Comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2 policy)
• One year of experience in the public health field is required
• Pertinent professional experience in the public health field may be substituted for the above educational requirement on a year-for-year basis

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced TB and TBI disease investigation and intervention activities
• Conduct complex case investigations
• Perform contact tracing
• Monitor treatment adherence
• Handle documentation
• Coordinate care in accordance with public health guidelines
• Provide mentorship to investigative staff

• Perform other duties as assigned
